Kevin has served as the managing partner of Carver Moquist & O’Connor, LLC from inception. He has over 25 years of experience in business and individual taxation servicing start-up, emerging and established clients in a broad cross-section of industries. Kevin has extensive experience with closely held businesses in the service, computer hardware and software, real estate, manufacturing, construction, and distribution industries.

Kevin attended the University of Minnesota where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Taxation. Kevin was recognized in 2007 by the Woodbury High School Alumni Association with its 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award. Kevin serves as a board member and executive committee member of the South Washington County Educational Foundation. In addition, he serves as chairman of its finance committee and treasurer. In 2007, Kevin and CMO began to serve on the finance committee of the newly formed Woodbury Community Foundation. Kevin is a liaison for the firm with Corporate Alliance, a group of independent consulting companies focused on providing a full range of business solutions to clients. He is a past chairman of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Committee to honor the top collegiate hockey player in the nation each year who demonstrates integrity and character on and off the ice. Kevin is presently serving as a director of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation. He is a former officer of the Minnesota Software Association (MSA), serving as their treasurer for five years. With the merger of MSA with Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), CMO became a preferred provider CPA firm for MHTA and part of MHTA’s business resource network. Kevin is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He is a member of the Bloomington and Woodbury Chambers and Network First of St. Paul. Kevin is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Accountants Tax Division, and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Professional Focus
Kevin specializes in the coordination of planning between closely held businesses and their shareholders. He is integrally involved in formation and structuring business entities to minimize overall federal and state taxes. Kevin is involved in providing business consulting advice to numerous clients in a broad range of industries. He also has worked extensively with Fortune 500 executives on integrated planning with exercises and trades of non-qualified and incentive stock options and strategies related to minimizing Alternative Minimum Tax.

Personal Interests
Kevin, his wife and four children reside in Woodbury where he is involved in coaching youth activities, church, and various other community activities.  He also enjoys racquetball, basketball, golf, and tennis.
