Jan is a tax partner with Carver Moquist & O'Connor, LLC, and has 18 years of experience in corporate, partnership and individual taxation and business consulting. Prior to joining the firm, Jan worked with the tax departments in the Minneapolis offices of Price Waterhouse and Grant Thornton. He has experience in numerous industry segments including manufacturing, service and construction. Jan has extensive experience with closely held businesses and related issues, including formation, acquisitions, sales tax, multi-state issues, and ownership planning.

Jan has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of North Dakota. He is a member of the Minnesota and North Dakota State Bar Associations, the Hennepin County Bar Association, and the Minnesota and North Dakota State Societies of Certified Public Accountants.

Jan focuses his professional interests on comprehensive business and tax planning for closely held and emerging businesses.

Personal Interests
Jan enjoys many activities including golf, hunting, riding his Harley and boating on the St. Croix River.
