Kim Schwichtenberg began her career in the tax department of an international accounting firm in 1978. She joined Moquist Thorvilson Kaufmann Kennedy & Pieper LLC where she worked for four years before taking a supervisory position with Honeywell. She missed the unique challenges and opportunities of public accounting and rejoined Moquist Thorvilson Kaufmann Kennedy & Pieper LLC in 1984 on a part-time basis.
She was promoted from a staff accountant through various management positions to shareholder while working a flex schedule. (She has participated in several work life balance presentations and has contributed to several articles on the subject.) Kim enjoys working with a variety of clients, but her primary focus is high net worth individuals, executives of large corporations and business owners. She collaborates with the client’s attorneys, investment advisors and other professionals to create a comprehensive financial plan that integrates all aspects of the client’s financial life.
Kim is in the unique position of managing a large tax practice within Moquist Thorvilson Kaufmann Kennedy & Pieper LLC and also acting as Chief Manager of its affiliated financial planning and wealth management company, SilverOak Wealth Management LLC, formed in 1999.
